Driver Earnings & Fee Policy

Effective Date: July 17, 2025
Applies to: All registered drivers on the Gamu Driver App
Issued by: Gamu Technologies Inc.

1. Purpose

This policy explains how drivers using the Gamu platform earn income, how fees are applied, and how and when payouts are made. It also clarifies the driver’s responsibilities regarding earnings and taxes.

2. How Driver Earnings Work

Drivers earn money by completing deliveries placed by customers through the Gamu Customer App.

Each delivery includes:

  • Base delivery fee: A fixed rate paid by the customer.
  • Distance/time component: Additional earnings based on travel distance or time (if applicable).
  • Tips: 100% of any customer tip goes directly to the driver.
  • Incentives or bonuses: Occasionally offered by Gamu (not guaranteed).

Drivers can see their estimated earnings for each job before accepting it.

3. Platform Fee

Gamu Technologies Inc. deducts a service fee from each completed delivery. This fee helps cover the cost of maintaining the platform, payment processing, and support.

  • The fee percentage may vary depending on the service type or promotional programs.
  • The exact fee is shown in your earnings summary for transparency.

Example:
If a delivery pays $10 and the Gamu service fee is 5%, the driver earns $9.50.

4. Payout Schedule

Payouts to drivers are made automatically every Monday at 4:00 AM Pacific Time via Stripe Connect to the bank account linked during onboarding.

Important Notes:

  • Earnings from Monday to Sunday are included in the next Monday payout.
  • Payouts may take 1–2 business days to appear in your bank, depending on your bank’s processing time.
  • If your Stripe Connect account is incomplete or verification is pending, payouts will be delayed.

5. Manual Withdrawals (Coming Soon)

In the future, Gamu may introduce a manual withdrawal feature from your wallet, allowing drivers to request early payouts (subject to minimum thresholds and processing fees).

6. Viewing Earnings

Drivers can track their earnings in real time from the Wallet section of the Gamu Driver App, which shows:

  • Available balance
  • Completed job payments
  • Platform fees deducted
  • Payout status
  • Tips and bonuses
  • Transaction history

7. Taxes and Reporting

Drivers are independent contractors and are responsible for reporting their own income to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Gamu Does Not:

  • Withhold income tax
  • Issue T4s or T4As
  • Remit HST/GST/PST on your behalf

However:

  • Stripe may issue a T4A if your earnings exceed certain thresholds.
  • It’s your responsibility to track earnings and file taxes accordingly.
  • Gamu may request your SIN if required by CRA rules for compliance.

8. Cancellations and Adjustments

If a delivery is cancelled after acceptance, partial or full compensation may be provided depending on the situation (e.g., distance traveled before cancellation).

If a delivery is canceled by the driver without valid reason, it may affect your access to delivery jobs or bonus eligibility.

9. Disputes or Questions

If you believe your payout is incorrect or a fee was wrongly applied, contact Gamu Support Centre within 7 days of the transaction. Provide relevant order IDs and screenshots if possible.

10. Policy Changes

Gamu Technologies Inc. reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. You will be notified of material changes through the Gamu Driver App or email.

11. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada. Any disputes will be handled through the courts of British Columbia.
